About Wee Treasures

Wee Treasures was set up by Lynn Wilkins. Lynn is passionate about textiles and stitching and has spent many years working with fabric and making soft furnishings, dressmaking, and more recently, stitching quilts and wall hangings.   She hopes you enjoy looking at her website and would love to hear from you if you share a similar obsession with fabric!  “Wee Treasures” is her new venture and she uses natural fabrics - silk and calico - for her products.  Calico has a simple appeal yet is so versatile.  Silk is always luxurious.  Together they compliment and contrast – a contemporary look with a traditional feel.

Wee Treasures jewellery wraps can be customised for the occasion and the individual.  Just send some small pieces of fabric with your order and they can be used for the middle panel to make your jewellery wrap unique to you.

“Balance” – I did this piece as part of my Textile course through the Open College of the Arts.  My inspiration came from a picture of a building with curved lines.  I selected an area of the picture and duplicated, twisted and turned the sketches and eventually came up with these three wall hangings.  The final pieces look like birds heads which was completely unintentional!

“Eclipse” – This piece was the result of my first attempt at batik.  I loved the vibrant orange dye – however I got a bit too enthusiastic and ended up with hands the colour of oranges for a few days!

“Green triangles” – My inspiration for this piece came from an embroidery I saw in a library book so it’s not an original.  I did it from memory and dropped paint on the fabric and cut away bits and pieces until I arrived at the final piece.

“That Perfect Place” – This piece was part of my final assessment during the Textile course I completed a few years ago.  My inspiration, believe it or not, came from the metalwork on the Eiffel Tower.  I had taken photos and then did sketches.  It’s silk and calico (same as my jewellery wraps!) and was a pleasure to create.  (That Perfect Place, of course is Paris!)
